Your 3* Hotel will be within easy reach of the cities attractions and have facilities like Satellite TV. All rooms have a private en-suite bathroom and breakfast is served each morning. After check-in the rest of the day is free for you to start discover beautiful Reykjavik.

The following day we take you on the Golden Circle tour which is our bestselling day tour! Follow in the footsteps of the Vikings of old as you walk down into the rift valley where the American and Eurasian continental plates are literally pulling apart at Þingvellir National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the birthplace of the oldest existing parliament. Witness the steaming geothermal springs as the ground trembles and hot water spouts spectacularly skywards from the famous Strokkur Geyser at home of the one-and-only original geyser and Iceland's most iconic natural attraction. Experience the magnificence and power of Gullfoss Waterfall, a set of glacial river cascades falling 32 meters into a narrow canyon with a thunderous roar.

Þingvellir National Park

Located on the northern shores of Þingvallavatn, Þingvellir is the national pride of Iceland and our first National Park. It is, for one, a key location in Icelandic history as the oldest existing parliament in the world first assembled there in 930 AD. For this reason, Þingvellir has been designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is, therefore, a protected national park due to its unique geology and natural features. From the viewing area the Almannagjá canyon between two tectonic plates can be seen, a visual representation of continental drift.

Geysir Geothermal Area

A favourite stop along the Golden Circle is the highly active Geysir Hot Spring Area with boiling mud pits and the lively Strokkur which spouts water 30 meters into the air every few minutes. The area became active more than 1000 years ago and comprises more than a dozen hot spring holes. Although one can only see steam emerging from the surface of Geysir these days, its name was adopted to represent spouting hot springs all over the world. Along the tour, the newly opened Geysir Center offers guests a chance to use the restroom and to catch some refreshments as well as lunch.

Gullfoss Waterfall

As one of the most popular attractions in all of Iceland, Gullfoss is a waterfall located in the Canyon of the Hvítá River in the southwest of the country. The beautiful Hvítá river rushes southward in three steps into a narrow canyon with a breath-taking roar and grandeur. Furthermore, on clear days the magnificent Langjökull glacier, Iceland's second largest glacier, can be seen in the distance.

Then after dinner in the evening we will come and pick you up and join us in the search for the rare and elusive northern lights (Aurora Borealis) in the skies around Reykjavík on this all time winter bestseller! For many, seeing the Northern Lights is the reason to travel to our northern island in winter. They are mesmerising, and a sight that will not be forgotten.

It is simple, nothing says “Icelandic Winter” like the idea of hunting for the Aurora Borealis. Created by solar storms originating from the sun, the Northern Lights need clear winter skies to be seen.

The expert operational team has decades of experience analysing weather patterns. We will review, each and everyday, the cloud forecast and the northern lights forecast in detail. We will not venture out in search of them unless we think we have good chance. This means we have a high success ratio.

All our northern lights tours are guided by one of our specially trained northern lights guides, they are both knowledgeable and helpful and will even give you tips on how to take photos of the night sky and of aurora. We offer free use of camera tripods (a must to take northern lights photos), we only have a few so if you own a tripod be sure to bring it along.

Every guide brings along an astronomical telescope for you to try out. Look for the stars and astronomy signs in sky using the provided star map and see the space that surrounds in a new way.

The following day you are in for a real treat a we take you to the new Sky Lagoon. The Sky Lagoon is a thermal spa inspired by nature & culture. Immerse yourself in warmth of this spectacular Oceanside geothermal lagoon. The dramatic North Atlantic Ocean stretches out before you. Above, glowing sunsets and stormy skies dazzle, and sometimes the dancing Northern Lights put on a stunning all-natural show. Sky Lagoon is about that Icelandic feeling of warmth and wonder.

You can choose to just lounge in the lagoon, enjoy a drink or take part in the RITUAL. Connect with Icelandic traditions. Relax your mind, body and soul. Try something new. Step out of your comfort zone. All of these are possible with Sky Lagoon's The Ritual, a truly unique journey that's at the heart of Iceland's newest geothermal experience.

This is what will leave you rejuvenated, transformed and connected to the elements.

Step 1: Slow down, relax in the lagoon

Enter through the cave-like entrance to the lagoon. It's time to settle in. Step into the warm waters and relax. Breathe in the refreshing ocean air. Float through a breathtaking canyon and take in a view toward Mount Keilir. To the other side, the rhythmic theatre of the ocean sets your breath free.

Step 2: Cool down with the cold plunge

Next comes cold therapy, a deeply traditional step for Icelanders. You have choices! Wander in the fresh Icelandic air. Or if you’re brave like a Viking, take a dip in the cold pool. It’ll stimulate your immune system, decrease blood flow in your body and tighten skin.

Step 3: Relax with a view in the sauna

After a cold awakening, visit the sauna for 5 to 10 minutes. Allow the heat to open your pores, remove toxins and cleanse your skin. Enjoy breathtaking ocean views while the heat works its magic. With an enormous window with unobstructed ocean views, this is the most amazing sauna in Iceland.

Step 4: Refresh in a cold fog-mist

Next, balance the heat from the sauna by stepping slowly through the cold fog-mist space. Take a deep breath here and refresh your senses! The cold mist rejuvenates the skin and helps prepare you for what comes next.

Step 5: The Sky Body Scrub

It’s time for re-invigoration. By applying the signature Sky Body Scrub, your skin will be exfoliated and glowing. The highlight of The Ritual, they have developed a unique sea salt scrub to give your skin a soft healthy feeling. With its light and comforting spring-like scent, it'll work wonders.

Step 6: Steam room

With your skin tingling from the Sky Body Scrub, steam will once more open your skin. Here, The Ritual's key therapeutic elements are absorbed and the hydrating benefits of the Sky Body Scrub maximized. With the scrub still on, you'll find that the moisture and warmth help you breathe deeply and easily. Relax. Clear your sinuses and feel the health in your lungs. The steam improves your overall body function. It feels great!

Step 7: Shower and relax in the lagoon

Finally, rinse off the scrub in the shower. Then, step back into the warm geothermal lagoon. Lean back, close your eyes, breathe deeply, feel the results and enjoy the moment! Let all the benefits of this unique journey sink in. You'll feel every single muscle in your body is relaxed, rejuvenated and energized. When you're ready, head to the Lagoon Bar for a refreshment.

These seven steps, taken in sequence and at a slow pace, can lead to deep relaxation and wellbeing. As Icelanders have done for centuries, discover the power of tradition and be inspired by these incredible surroundings.
