The dramatic North Atlantic Ocean stretches out before you. Sky Lagoon is about that Icelandic feeling of warmth and wonder. Join us for rejuvenation and inspiration at the edge of the world.

Sky Lagoon the Ritual

Relax your mind, body and soul. Try something new. Step out of your comfort zone with the 7-step spa ritual. All of these are possible with Sky Lagoon's The Ritual, a truly unique journey that's at the heart of Iceland's newest geothermal experience.

The next day starts by driving from Reykjavik to the historic Þingvellir National Park. This was the venue for the Icelandic parliament from 930 till 1798 and is listed by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site, both for its rich history and amazing nature. This is also where the American and Eurasian tectonic plates meet.

We then head onwards on the Golden Circle route to the Geyser geothermal area. Known throughout the world for its power and beauty, Geyser has become a synonym for this amazing show of nature. Strokkur, another hot spring, sits nearby and is very active, erupting to heights up to 30 meters every few minutes. Follow one of many paths and enjoy steaming springs bubbling all around you. In the Geyser Area you will also have time to buy lunch or some snacks.

Next on the agenda is the waterfall Gullfoss, the Golden Waterfall. One of the most popular attractions in Iceland, Gullfoss will amaze you with its raw power and beauty, plummeting down 32 meters into the rugged canyon below.

These three attractions complete the classic Golden Circle  but to add even more to your experience  we also stop at the spectacular Kerid Volcanic Crater. This 3000 year old crater is 55 meters deep and offers a unique view of the beauty of the Icelandic nature.

We then head to our final destination of the day, the village of Hveragerdi. The village is packed with famous greenhouses powered by green energy, horse farms and even a Geothermal Park where you can try bread baked in the ground, boil yourself eggs in a hot spring or simply relax in the mud foot SPA.

We will stop for the night in the village and your room will have a private bathroom and you can enjoy a buffet breakfast in the morning.

After breakfast we set off on the second day of the escorted tour and head for the famous Seljalandsfoss waterfall. You’ll be able to experience this waterfall right up close as it crashes off the side of the Eyjafjallajokull volcano from a height of 60 meters.

Our next stop is a bit of a secret, the Gljufrabui Waterfalls is a hidden waterfall, which most visitors miss. Well tell you where to find it! And then a real treat as we make a quick stop at Irafoss, a private waterfall, that not everyone have access to.

We then pass by Volcano Eyjafjallajokull, its eruption on 2010 brought air traffic to a standstill across Europe.

Camera’s at the ready for our next stop. Skogafoss is one of the most iconic waterfalls in the world, and even featured in Game of Thrones. Because of its south-facing position, it is often covered in rainbows as the 60-meter cascade of water produces a lot of spray! Skogafoss is one of the most popular sights in the country and its possible to climb to the top of the falls to see it from there too

We then head to the Solheimajokull Glacier, Solheimajokull is part of one of the largest glaciers in the country, Myrdalsjokull. Solheimajokull glacier is part of a much larger glacier, Myrdalsjokull, ice-sheet in the Katla UNESCO Global Geopark, and you will have a chance to walk across this ancient blue-ice glacier. Accompanied by a qualified guide and with all the necessary safety equipment provided, including ropes, crampons, and helmets, you’ll be able to really appreciate the sheer scale of the glacier and explore the crisscross of crevasses, ice tunnels and other glacial features here.

Heading onwards it’s now time to visit the world-famous black sand beach at Reynisfjara, where beautifully-shaped basalt columns hug the cliffs, volcanic sands are pounded by powerful Atlantic waves and the starkly shaped sea stacks of the Reynisdrangar tower just offshore

We spend the night in Suursveit, a remote community in South-East Iceland. You will have a private room with ensuite bathroom and enjoy a buffet breakfast the next morning.

The third day starts with short stop in Vik Village that offers stunning views over Black Sand Beach and hills surrounding this small settlement before moving on to Eldhraun, a barren and desolate wasteland filled with moss-covered lava formations.

Hofskirkja Church is our next stop. Hofskirkja was the last church of this type to be built in Iceland, dating back to the 19th century. Deep layers of turf make up the roof of the church here, which is also surrounded by moss-covered burial mounds

We then make our way to the Glacier Lagoon, Jokulsarlon Glacier Lagoon is truly an extraordinary place, a bucket-list location featured in several Hollywood movies, but also very peaceful and tranquil too. The scenery is stunning, and always changing too, as wind and tides pull the icebergs in different directions all the time.

Here you will have an option to take a thrilling 45-minute amphibious boat tour among the bergs, getting up close to these icy giants and maybe even seeing a seal or two as well.

Just a few hundred yards away from the Glacier Lagoon you will see the Diamond Beach, that gets its name from the countless sparkling fragments of multi-coloured icebergs found here. They are slowly being sculpted into fantastic shapes by the wind and the waves on this black sand Atlantic beach.

After enjoying the magic of the Glacier Lagoon, it will be time to return to Reykjavik, we make a rest stop in Vik before continuing onwards to your drop-off in the capital city.

You will be dropped at your hotel and you can spend the evening enjoying the capitals many bars and restaurants before being transferred back to the airport the following day for your flight back to the UK.
