On arrival at Kelavik International airport you will meet our representatives and they will transfer you to your hotel in the Capital Reykjavik. You will stay in a 3* hotel within easy reach of the cities attractions and have facilities like Satellite TV. All rooms have a private en-suite bathroom and breakfast is served each morning. After check-in the rest of the day is free for you to start discover beautiful Reykjavik.

This tour includes the two most popular summer tours out into the Bay, we start on day 2 with a leisurely morning after breakfast where you’ll need to make your way down to the Old Harbour in the heart of Reykjavik and meet us for the 1pm Whale Watching departure.

On a Whale Watching tour from Reykjavik you will be able to experience some of Iceland’s rich and thriving bird life, as well as visit our large variety of sea-life, including minke whales, humpback whales, harbour porpoises and white-beaked dolphins among other whale species. Our focus is on comfort, unique experiences and personal service while making sure the environment is protected and respected in every way possible.

Enjoy a sail out in one of the largest whale watching boats in Iceland. Our big and sturdy whale watching boats, provides you with extra comfort, fantastic interior and seating areas, large outside viewing decks, a safe family friendly environment and a café & souvenir shop on-board.

Our expert guides and friendly crew will welcome you aboard, share with you interesting information about different kinds of whales and seabirds you may expect to see on your tour and will teach you how to spot whales out in the bay. With an on-board display of whale teeth, bones, baleen, plankton nets and a microscope makes this tour truly is a hands-on floating Whale Watching classroom with educational & interactive focus!

Day 3 once again you’ll meet us at the Old Harbour, this time at a time of your choosing as we head out to Puffin Island.

The Puffin Watching tours on the Puffin Express, have been popular for over 20 years! Our great experience, and especially designed boat, Skúlaskeið or “Old Skuli”, makes us the leading expert in the area. There are about 30.000 puffins nesting on the islands off the coast of Reykjavik and we are only a 15 minute boat ride away!

We sail out from the old harbour in Reykjavik and it only takes us about 15 minutes to reach the puffin island, Akurey. On the journey out you will be able to view Reykjavik from the seaside and the guide will also share information about the buildings & islands that can be spotted along the way.

The islands we visit are covered with small hills and slopes and both are well known for their colourful birdlife. The island’s shores are rocky but our boat Old Skuli is specially designed to take us as close to the islands as possible due to its shallow draft. When we arrive to the islands we turn off the engine so our passengers can observe the birds and the beautiful surroundings. Our expert guide will tell you all the facts and fun stories about the cute puffins and other wildlife that might be seen on the tour.
