You’ll fly from London to Iceland and stay 4 Nights in the capital, Reykjavik on a room only basis. Reykjavik is a great city to explore, its size means it’s easy to navigate on foot and you’ll be delighted with the choice of museums, art galleries and cultural center’s like the stunning Harpa concert hall or climb the tower in the imposing Hallgrimskirkju Cathedral. The food scene is also great, from top class restaurants to the famous hot dog stand, Reykjavik has it all.
However, for many a visit to Iceland is about escaping the city to explore its natural wonder and beauty. In the winter months’ people are drawn to Iceland for the Northern Lights, the islands position in the Aurora zone makes it one of the most accessible place to see the lights. The Blue Lagoon draws plenty of visitors although the cheaper options of Fontana and the secret lagoon are great alternatives and the number one tour, the Golden Circle is a must, you’ll see Þingvellir National Park, the highly active Geysir Hot Spring Area with boiling mud pits and the lively Strokkur which spouts water 30 meters into the air every few minutes and the Gullfoss waterfall.
The summer is great time to cruise out from the Old Harbour to try and spot the feeding Whales, take a trip down the stunning south coast or ride a snowmobile across a glacier. The choice is all yours and we will help you plan your trips to make the most of your stay.
You adventure then continues with 3 nights in the Big Apple with your chance to explore the sights, sample the world class cuisine or grab a hot dog on the street or shop until you drop. Take in a Broadway show, be dazzled lights of Time Square or escape the hustle and bustle with a stroll in Central Park. The attractions are almost endless, top class museums attract plenty or jump on the ferry for a free trip out to Staten Island and great views of Lady Liberty.
Once your time is up in New York you’ll board the Iconic Cunard Liner, the Queen Mary 2 for a 7 Night Full Board Cruise across the Atlantic back to Southampton.
Queen Mary 2 is a remarkable flagship, her style and elegance are legendary. Above all, it‘s the space she offers and the luxury for you to do as little or as much as you wish which sets her apart.
Your table is reserved for breakfast, lunch and dinner in one of the sophisticated main restaurants aboard. Each is the home of deliciously imaginative menus, exceptional wines and impeccable service. You may start with such delicacies as Salmon Gravlax with Poached Quail’s Egg or a Croquette of Suckling Pig. For your entrée, you might be in the mood for Dover Sole Meunière or a Chateaubriand, perhaps rounded off with a rich Bitter Chocolate Soufflé or a lighter Mango Panna Cotta.
Whilst the fine dining in the main restaurants is quiet exceptional, for a special occasion or just to treat yourself you can pay a fee to use one of the specialty restaurants. It’s simply a case of deciding what you’re in the mood for. The menu at the Steakhouse at The Verandah features specialty seafood and tender cooked-to-order prime cuts. Within either Kings Court or the Lido, alternative venues include Aztec with its Mexican flavours, Asian delicacies at Bamboo, Italian-themed La Piazza and the Smokehouse, inspired by a classic American grill.
Every evening during your cruise promises a stellar array of entertainment choices. So, whether you’re in the mood for music, dance performances or even magic shows, prepare to settle into your seat. Live music will be an unmistakable signature of every moment on your ship. Accomplished resident musicians will create an enticing ambience, during relaxing moments and on grand social occasions. The string trio provides a warm welcome on board and melodic accompaniment to Afternoon Tea. The resident pianist sets an elegant tone to evening dinner drinks in the Commodore Club, and you’ll also find harpists and contemporary bands in public rooms and lounges throughout the ship.
If anything perfectly encapsulates Cunard’s service and sense of occasion, it is the prized daily ritual of Afternoon Tea, served by white-gloved waiters from 3.30 to 4.30pm every day in the Queens Room. Indulgent finger sandwiches, scones and pastries accompany Twinings fine leaf teas, as the orchestra provides a melodic backdrop.

More than this, Illuminations is a luxury 3D cinema and a classical music venue. The planetarium dome can send you on an epic voyage across the solar system, teach you to navigate by the stars, or show other science and natural history films, with up to four screenings on each sea day.
