The Golden Circle is the most popular tourist tour in Iceland. You will visit Þingvellir national park which has a high historic significance as well as being listed as a UNESCO world heritage site. Strokkur at the Geysir hot spring area in Haukadalur, is Iceland´s, Gullfoss waterfall, Eyajafjallajökull glacier are just few of the sights you will see during the tour. See South coast of Iceland with its natural wonders; black lava beaches, waterfalls and glaciers and Skogarfoss Waterfall and folk museum.

Suggested Itinerary

Day 1: ARRIVAL IN ICELAND

Arrive in Iceland and pick up your hire car from the airport and head to the capital Reykjavik. If time allows, go for an exploration walk around Reykjavík before spending the night in a 3 or 4* hotel.

Day 2: GOLDEN CIRCLE

After breakfast leave the capital behind and head for your first stop at Þingvellir national park, a UNESCO world heritage site. The park rests in a valley created by the power of the drifting tectonic plates. Keep on driving to Haukadalur hot spring area where you will see several hot springs, the most active being the geysir Strokkur, which erupts every 10 minutes. The next stop is the Gullfoss waterfall (golden waterfall). This waterfall falls in two cascades into a narrow and deep gorge. Further on you can visit the church and historical site of Skálholt before heading on to the volcanic crater Kerið. You’ll spend the night in the 3* Fosshotel Hekla or similar.

Day 3: SOUTH COAST OF ICELAND

This morning head along the south coast and along the way you see the amazing Seljalandsfoss waterfall which is very unique as you can walk behind it and see through to the other side. You will also find the majestic Skógarfoss waterfall with its 60 metre drop. Other highlights include the stunning Myrdalsjökull glacier and impressive Reynisdrangar rock formations near the town of Vík. You’ll then head back to the capital, Reykjavik and overnight in a 3 or 4* hotel.

Day 4: DEPART FOR HOME

If time allows: Enjoy Reykjavík, or explore the Reykjanes Peninsula with a stop at the famous Blue Lagoon for relaxation. You’ll then drop off your hire car and board your flight back home.
