Enjoy a seven night’s tour around Iceland which is designed for those who want to stay in the better hotels and enjoy a luxury atmosphere while traveling. During your holiday in Iceland, you will witness magnificent waterfalls and stunning glaciers.

You will stay in quality hotels around Iceland, with breakfast included each morning. Explore dramatic landscapes and some of the world’s finest waterfalls like Gullfoss, Goðafoss and Skógarfoss. Visit erupting geysers in the great Geysir hot spring area, Thingvellir national park, a UNESCO world heritage site. Enjoy the Vatnajökull glacier, Jökulsárlón glacier lagoon and many other unique places such as Akureyri, the capital of northern Iceland, waterfalls like Goðafoss and Gullfoss, the magical scenery at lake Mývatn and the fossils of Tjörnes peninsula and scenic fjords of East Iceland.

Suggested Itinerary

Day 1: ARRIVAL IN ICELAND Arrival in Iceland and collect your hire car before heading into the capital. If the time allows, take a stroll through Reykjavík before spending the night in the 4*Fosshotel Reykjavík or similar.

Day 2: BORGARFJÖRÐUR AND THE SAGAS Head out of the capital and explore the saga valley Borgarfjörður with its waterfalls, hot springs and historic sites. Spend the night in the newly renovated Fosshotel Reykholt in a superior room or similar.

Day 3: SIGHTS OF NORTHWEST ICELAND Head north and stop at Glaumbær Turf farm for a journey into the Icelandic history. Spend tonight in a deluxe room at the Fosshotel Húsavík or Fosshotel Myvatn or similar.

Day 4: GODAFOSS & LAKE MYVATN Discover the wonders of north Iceland, such as the beautiful Goðafoss, the waterfall of the gods. Be impressed by the sights of Lake Mývatn before heading east to spend the night in a superior room at Fosshotel Eastfjords or Fosshotel Vatnajokull or similar.

Day 5: EAST FJORDS OF ICELAND Spend the day driving along the scenic fjords of east Iceland. Stop in Stöðvarfjörður to visit the famous stone collection. Pay a visit to the informative glacier exhibition in Höfn featuring a viewing platform towards the mighty Vatnajökull glacier and then spend the night in the 4* Fosshotel Glacier Lagoon hotel or similar.

Day 6: GLACIAL LAKE AND NATURAL WONDERS On your journey along the south coast, you will begin the day by travelling along Vatnajökull glacier, Jökulsárlón glacier lagoon and Skaftafell National Park. Furthermore, you will travel along the south coast and witness many natural wonders such as black lava beaches, stunning waterfalls and more glaciers before spending the night in the 4* Stracta Hotel or Similar.

Day 7: GULLFOSS WATERFALL AND GEYSIR HOT SPRING AREA Head out on the route of the Golden Circle and visit Gullfoss waterfall, Geysir hot spring area in Haukadalur and Þingvellir National Park, a UNESCO world heritage site before ending the day back in the capital where you’ll spend the night in the Fosshotel Reykjavík or similar.

Day 8: DEPART FOR HOME If time allows: Enjoy Reykjavík, or explore the Reykjanes peninsula with a stop at the famous Blue Lagoon for relaxation before dropping off your hire car and catching your flight home.

If you choose to travel between Mid-November and Mid-January then you are going to have limited daylight hours, between 4 and 6 hours but then the dark nights are perfect for the Northern Lights.
