On arrival at Keflavik International airport, you will meet our representatives and they will transfer you to your hotel in the Capital Reykjavik. Your 3* Hotel will be within easy reach of the cities attractions and have facilities like Satellite TV. All rooms have a private en-suite bathroom and breakfast is served each morning.

In the evening, make your way to the Old Harbour in Reykjavik and board the boat to go searching for the Northern Lights from the sea. Our guides monitor the aurora forecast and know the bay well so finding the best spot to watch the Northern Lights is their specialty.

The boat will take you away from the light pollution to try and make sure you can get the best and unobstructed view of the Northern Lights. On board we’ll show you our video about the Northern Lights which is packed with Icelandic folklore and photos. We then take you back to the harbour and you can make your way to the hotel for the night.

The following morning after breakfast, we pick you up from your hotel or designated bus stop, we set out on your small group escorted tour, and we begin with the famous Golden Circle attractions, Thingvellir National Park, Gullfoss and Geysir.

Thingvellir National Park is considered to be the birthplace of the Icelandic nation. It is where the first Icelandic parliament gathered in 930 CE. The whole area is a fantastic geological site between the splitting North American and Eurasian tectonic plates.

Next, we will head to Gullfoss, the Golden Falls, probably Iceland's most known and visited waterfall. The water of the Hvita River thrusting down the two stages is an impressive sight to see. It is then on the Geysir Geothermal area and although Geysir lays dormant, the area is home to most active hot spring in Iceland. Strokkur, which is Geysir's "little brother," erupts in boiling water every few minutes.

Next, we follow route 1 and that will lead us to the famous Seljalandsfoss waterfalls. This spectacular waterfall is great for those Instagram photos. On a clear day, you will have the opportunity to see the two surrounding glaciers. We head onwards to the scenic Skógafoss waterfall. Here, the water crashes over the former sea cliffs.

We then head to our countryside hotel in the small town of Kirkjubæjarklaustur. We will spend the night in the Hotel Geirland where all the rooms offer tea and coffee making facilities and mountain views. The main building has a restaurant, a bar with TV and free Wi-Fi. Some of the hotels cosy rooms are set in individual cottages in the garden. If the weather is in our favour, the tour guide will pick out the best spots to see the Northern Lights.

The next day we continue along the South Coast route to the famous Reynisfjara black sand beach. Just offshore, catch a peek at the majestic Reynisdrangar peaks that shoot out of the sea.

We then leave the beach behind and head for icy glaciers and a magical journey through the Crystal Ice Cave. In September the Ice cave is replaced by a Glacier Walk.

We witness the jaw-dropping Mýrdalsjökull Glacier, home to the infamous Katla Volcano. Mt. Katla we will also see her neighbour, the infamous Eyjafjalljökull.

Next is the stunning Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon, the most famous ice lagoon in the world. Behold crystalline blue ice-floes as they meander through the lagoon. Then we’ll walk over to Diamond Beach. Another coastline with coal-black sands, this beach is dotted with glittering blue and white icebergs washed ashore by the tide. Your accommodation for the evening will be in Höfn, a quaint town known as the lobster capital of Iceland.

After breakfast, we head for the picturesque East Fjords. As we drive through the countryside, we’ll pass the diverse scenery of Lón, the Þvottárskriður landslides, and Álftafjarðar Fjord.

Our first stop is the charming fishing town of Djúpivogur. It may be quaint here, but it also has fascinating culture spots. Explore museums, parks, and sculptures. Make sure to check out the famous Eggin í Gleðivík or The Eggs of Merry Bay, a 34-piece outdoor sculpture dedicated to the area’s birdlife.

Then we take a three-hour trek to Hengifoss, the second-highest waterfall in Iceland at 128m. On the trail we’ll pass Litlanesfoss Waterfall, a hidden gem tucked between basalt columns. We’ll also come across a vibrant gorge. Ash layers from an ancient volcanic eruption are still visible, making these rock formations unique. Finally we make our way to Egilsstaðir, where you’ll spend the night in a country hotel.

The next morning from Egilsstaðir we forge through the wilderness to reach Möðrudalur, the highest inhabited farm in Iceland at 469 meters above sea level. The farm is also home to the highest coffee house in the country! Dettifoss Waterfall, the most powerful waterfall in Europe is next up. You’ll be in awe of the intense roaring waters, another example of Iceland’s ferocious beauty.

We then head to Lake Mývatn, just outside the lake is Námaskarð, a wonderland of steaming oases and bubbling craters. For more fiery views, we take you to Hverfjall Crater and the Dimmuborgir lava formations, also known as the Dark Castles. We’ll blow off some steam at the Mývatn Nature Baths, or Jarðböðin in Icelandic. The mineral-rich blue waters shoot right out of the earth. Soak in the hot alkaline water for a moment of true tranquillity. Bathing in the Nature Baths is an optional activity that you can add when booking your tour.

Our last stop before we continue to Eyjafjörður is Goðafoss, a historic waterfall before spending the  night at a country hotel in Akureyri.

The next day takes you to the traditional fishing village of Dalvík. The town has a bustling harbour and stunning views over Eyjafjörður and Hrísey Island.

Here we take a three-hour whale-watching tour from Dalvík harbour. Marvel at majestic humpback whales, minke whales, white-beaked dolphins and, if we are really lucky, blue whales. Dalvik whale-watching tours have a 98% success rate!

Back on dry land  we drive to Siglufjörður, a quaint fishing village with a rich history. In the early 20th century, life in the town exploded when the small, isolated community became known as the herring fishing capital of the Atlantic. You'll ride along Tröllaskagi and pass incredible ocean panoramas and mountains. Get an inside look at daily life in tight-knit, isolated Icelandic villages when you visit Siglufjörður. Your accommodation for the night will be in Laugarbakki.

The final day before we return to Reykjavik features the phenomenal sites of West Iceland. Your first stop is at Grábrók, an ancient volcanic crater formed by a fissure eruption and enveloped in lava. Your guide leads you on a hike to a birds-eye view of the crater and surrounding area.

You’ll also see the fascinating Hraunfossar cascade, a wide curtain of water made up of tiny rivulets that careen out of a lava field. Then we’ll stop at Barnafoss waterfall, or “the children’s falls,” named for a tragic folktale. The next point of interest is Deildartunguhver Hot Spring, the most powerful hot spring in Europe.  We make a stop in Reykholt before our jourmey back to Reykjavík takes us through the scenic Hvalfjörður whale fjord.  We arrive back in the city at approximately 5 – 6 pm and drop off you at a hotel in Reykjavik. That evening we leave the bright lights behind on a hunt for the Northern Lights. Our minibus tour takes you deep into the wilderness for the best views of the aurora. Our expert guides check the aurora forecast to find the best place to marvel at this spectacular light phenomenon.

The following day enjoy any free time in Reykjavik before your flight back to the UK.
