On arrival at Keflavik International airport, you will meet our representatives and they will transfer you to your hotel in the Capital Reykjavik. Your 3* Hotel will be within easy reach of the cities attractions and have facilities like Satellite TV. All rooms have a private en-suite bathroom and breakfast is served each morning.

The following morning after breakfast, we pick you up from your hotel or designated bus stop, we set out on your small group escorted tour, and we begin with the famous Golden Circle attractions, Thingvellir National Park, Gullfoss and Geysir.

Thingvellir National Park is considered to be the birthplace of the Icelandic nation. It is where the first Icelandic parliament gathered in 930 CE. The whole area is a fantastic geological site between the splitting North American and Eurasian tectonic plates.

Next, we will head to Gullfoss, the Golden Falls, probably Iceland's most known and visited waterfall. The water of the Hvita River thrusting down the two stages is an impressive sight to see. It is then on the Geysir Geothermal area and although Geysir lays dormant, the area is home to most active hot spring in Iceland. Strokkur, which is Geysir's "little brother," erupts in boiling water every few minutes.

Next, we follow route 1 and that will lead us to the famous Seljalandsfoss waterfalls. This spectacular waterfall is great for those Instagram photos. On a clear day, you will have the opportunity to see the two surrounding glaciers and then it is onwards to the coastal village of Vik before we head to our countryside hotel in the small town of Kirkjubæjarklaustur. We will spend the night in the Hotel Geirland where all the rooms offer tea and coffee making facilities and mountain views. The main building has a restaurant, a bar with TV and free Wi-Fi. Some of the hotels cosy rooms are set in individual cottages in the garden.

After you stop at your hotel for the night, from September through April, you can go out searching for the Northern Lights with the help of your guide if the forecast is in your favour.

We start the day after break by heading to the beach, the Reynisfjara black sand beach with the glorious Reynisdrangar peaks and visit the basalt column cave. Then we head to the glaciers!

We pass the great Mýrdalsjökull glacier, which houses one of the most famous and feared volcanoes beneath its ice, Katla. We see the results of previous volcanic eruptions as we drive across the Eldhraun lava field to Skaftafell in Vatnajökull National Park. Skaftafell is a true oasis with green birch forests and lush vegetation.

We will take a three-hour glacier hike, guided by our specialist glacier guide, on an outlet glacier of Vatnajökull, the largest glacier in Europe. We replace the glacier hike with a magical journey through the Crystal Ice Cave from October to April.

Then we visit the Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon. Gaze in wonder at the magical iceberg-filled lagoon and see the famous Diamond Beach, its coal-black sands peppered with the glittering crystal icebergs.

Our accommodation for the night will be at a guesthouse in the Höfn area, known as the lobster capital of Iceland. From September to April, slip away from the guesthouse at night to chase the Northern Lights.

Today we will explore the East Fjords of Iceland. We wind our way along the coastline, driving some narrow roads around Hvalnes, a magnificent and remote peninsula, and the stretch around the Þvottárskriður landslides between Lóns and Álftafjarðar.

We will stop at Djúpivogur, a traditional small fishing village and finish the day by soaking in geothermal Vök Baths surrounded by the amazing scenery of Lake Urriðavatn, they are distinguished by their modern design and the only floating infinity pools in Iceland. Enjoy hot baths there is an optional extra and after the baths, we will move on to Egilsstaðir, the largest town in East Iceland, where we will relax in a hotel for the night.

After breakfast, we head north to the Stuðlagil Canyon, one of the world’s most enchanting basalt rock formations and head over to explore the wilderness around Möðrudalur, the highest farm in Iceland for generations and now the highest inhabited place and restaurant. We then stop to see the Dettifoss, Europe's most powerful waterfall.

From here he head to explore the mystical landscapes around Lake Mývatn and then we will see the steaming lunar landscapes of the Námaskarð geothermal area. See boiling hot springs, steaming fumaroles, and Technicolor bubbling mud pots. The wonders keep coming as we visit the Hverfjall crater and the fantastic Dimmuborgir formations, known as the Dark Castles!

The vast crescent-shaped waterfall - Goðafoss, is the last stop of the day before we journey to Eyjafjörður, an outstandingly beautiful fjord with high mountains.

Tonight we stay in Akureyi, you’ll have time to explore the town, and your guide will help you find Northern Lights viewing areas near the hotel from November to March.

The next morning from Akureyri, the Capital of the North we pass through the mesmeric scenery along Eyjafjörður on the way to the little fishing town of Dalvík. From here we take a 3 hour boat trip from the traditional working harbour to try and spot the whales. Humpback whales, white-beaked dolphins, minke whales are often seen on these whale watching trips and if you are really lucky you might even get to see a majestic blue whale.

Back on dryland, we head for Siglufjörður, a charming fishing village with a rich history. In the early 20th century, this remote community became the herring fishing capital of the Atlantic. Your journey around Tröllaskagi will show you some of Iceland's most spectacular ocean scenery and the characterful small villages on this peninsula will give you a good insight into how life is in the remote Icelandic villages.

Your accommodation for the night will be at a small hotel in Laugarbakki and of course, during the winter months we will chase the Northern Lights if the weather is in our favour.

On our last day of the tour, after breakfast the day will begin with a short hike up to Grábrók, a volcano crater. There are fabulous views over the lava field and the whole area on a clear day. Borgarfjörður has many splendid sights, and we will focus on these today. We stop at Deildartunguhver hot spring, the legendary waterfall, Barnafoss, and the Hraunfossar waterfall where the water emerges, literally straight out of the lava field.

We then head to Reykholt before driving around the scenic fjord, Hvalfjörður or Whale Fjord, on our way back to Reykjavík where we should arrive in the late afternoon and you will then spend a final night in the capital before your flight back to the UK the following morning.
