It is a 45-minute drive from the capital Reykjavík and a 90-minute drive from the International Airport in Keflavík. The hotel is located in the countryside surrounded by stunning landscape and the river Sog which is Iceland’s largest freshwater river in terms of water volume. It is especially famous for fishing Arctic char, Atlantic salmon and brown trout. The location means on a clear, winter’s night there’s a good chance of seeing the Northern Lights.

Hotel Grimsborgir has a restaurant with a broad a la carte menu with both Icelandic and international dishes. The restaurant seats 200 guests and in the summer, you can enjoy outside seats in the beautiful terrace. Every evening, there is a program of live music during dinner. In the hotel bar, each evening between 4pm and 6pm there is a happy hour.

For breakfast, there is a buffet with a selection of freshly baked breads and pastries, cheeses, cold cuts, vegetables, jams as well as yogurts and muslis, lots of fresh fruits and hot items such as breakfast sausages, bacon and scrambled eggs.
