Your holiday includes 3 Nights in Capital Reykjavik and a 2-Day tour which includes an overnight stay in Hverageri, a charming village famous for its geothermally heated greenhouses, Hveragerdi is the gateway to the South Coast of Iceland.

On arrival from the UK you’ll be transferred to your 3* Hotel in Reykjavik where you’ll spend 2 nights in a room with a private bathroom and you will enjoy breakfast each morning.

Depending on your flight time you will be picked up from your hotel either on your first or second night for our wonderful Northern Lights Tour.

On day 3 you will be collected from your hotel for your escorted tour. Heading out of Reykjavik we head for the famous Golden Circle where we make our first stop at the Thingvellir National Park. Here you will discover Thingvellir which is the old site of the Icelandic parliament, a UNESCO World Heritage Site listed for its amazing nature and rich history.

We then head on to watch for most will be the highlight of the day, the Geysir geothermal area. Witness the amazing world famous Geysir hot spring and its active neighbour Strokkur, erupting up 30 meters high every few minutes. During this stop here, you can buy food and drinks, including a full lunch if you wish.

We then move on to one of Iceland’s most spectacular waterfalls, Gullfoss. Gullfoss or the Golden Waterfall, will greet you with its amazing beauty and power. Our last visit on the Golden Circle is a visit to the spectacular Kerid Volcanic Crater, a 3000 year old crater which is 55 meters deep.

We then head to the village of Hveragerdi which is the place where you will stay for the night. Famous for its geothermally heated greenhouses, Hveragerdi is the gateway to the South Coast of Iceland. We usually arrive there around 4 pm which gives you plenty of time to enjoy this charming town.

Hveragerdi is located directly over a geothermal hotspot, which heats gigantic greenhouses filled with flowers, tomatoes and more. Some even call Hveragerdi the Flower Village for that reason. Straddling the Mid-Atlantic Ridge, you’ll be able to see the split between the Eurasian and North American tectonic plates. If you’re looking for a bite to eat, there’s a wide selection of bars and restaurants. Some even use geothermal power for carbon-neutral cooking! You’re hotel room will have a private bathroom and you will enjoy a buffet breakfast in the morning.

After breakfast we head out along the South Coast for a day of waterfalls, glaciers and black sand beaches. The first stop of the day is Seljalandsfoss. You’ll be able to experience this waterfall right up close as it crashes off the side of the Eyjafjallajokull volcano from a height of 60 meters.

Our next stop is at the Gljufrabui Waterfalls, a hidden waterfall, which most visitors miss. We’ll let you in on the secret and tell you where to find it! It is not easy, as it is hidden in a cave. Leaving Gljufrabui behind it’s another spectacular waterfall next and Skogafoss which is one of the most iconic waterfalls in the world, and even featured in Game of Thrones. Because of its south-facing position, it is often covered in rainbows as the 60-meter cascade of water produces a lot of spray! Skogafoss is one of the most popular sights in the country and its possible to climb to the top of the falls to see it from a different perspective.

Leaving the waterfalls behind us we visit the Solheimajokull Glacier which Solheimajokull is part of one of the largest glaciers in the country, Myrdalsjokull. Will take you to the viewing platform to soak in the spectacular view.

Our next stop is Dyrhlaey, which means Door Hill Island. It’s actually an impressive peninsula that stretches across several towering stacks and stone arches, overlooking the black sand beach at Reynisfjara. The views from here are stunning in every direction. Then it is time to visit the world-famous black sand beach at Reynisfjara, where beautifully-shaped basalt columns hug the cliffs, volcanic sands are pounded by powerful Atlantic waves and the starkly shaped sea stacks of the Reynisdrangar tower just offshore.

We then head back to Reykjavik where you’ll be dropped at your hotel for your last night, enjoy the bars and restaurants of the capital before heading back to the airport the following day and your flight home.
