After the event we will pick you from Bryggjan Brugghús and head out for a Aurora Borealis hunt. For many travellers, the idea of experiencing the Northern Lights is the ultimate reason for travelling to Iceland in winter. And for good reasons, the Auroras are both wonderfully mysterious and beautiful. In addition to its excellent record for frequent sightings of the Northern Lights, Iceland offers some of the best conditions for seeing stars, as the air is pure and the light pollution is minimal in this sparsely populated land.

Search for the rare and elusive northern lights (Aurora Borealis) in the skies around Reykjavík on this all time winter bestseller! For many, seeing the Northern Lights is the reason to travel to our northern island in winter. They are mesmerizing, and a sight that will not be forgotten.

It is simple, nothing says “Icelandic Winter” like the idea of hunting for the Aurora Borealis. Created by solar storms originating from the sun, the Northern Lights need clear winter skies to be seen.

The expert operational team has decades of experience analysing weather patterns. We will review, each and everyday, the cloud forecast and the northern lights forecast in detail. We will not venture out in search of them unless we think we have good chance. This means we have a high success ratio.

All our northern lights tours are guided by one of our specially trained northern lights guides, they are both knowledgeable and helpful and will even give you tips on how to take photos of the night sky and of aurora. We offer free use of camera tripods (a must to take northern lights photos), we only have a few so if you own a tripod be sure to bring it along.

Every guide brings along an astronomical telescope for you to try out. Look for the stars and astronomy signs in sky using the provided star map and see the space that surrounds in a new way.

The following day we have the Perfect Day Trip with Iceland's most iconic sites along with a dip in the Blue Lagoon. This is the perfect combination of the most popular day tour in Iceland with the healing waters of the Blue Lagoon, taking you to see separation of Europe and North America, geysers and hot springs, and the magnificent golden waterfall. The day starts with visit to the Thingvellir valley a place of amazing natural beauty where the land has been torn apart by the separation of the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates. This UNESCO World Heritage site is home to the largest fresh water lake in Iceland and is the beating heart of Icelandic pride, being the birthplace for the longest standing parliament on the world.

The journey then continues to the Geysir park which is filled with bubbling and steaming geothermal springs. The anticipation builds as you approach the viewing point for the Strokkur Geyser, where the ground trembles and almost without warning, the geyser erupts spectacularly to a heights of 35 meters. Then you continue to the magnificent and majestic Golden Waterfall. As water melts from the second largest glacier in Iceland, Langjökull, it reaches Gullfoss where it falls 32 meters down into a canyon with a thunderous roar.

You then head back to the capital area to prepare for a visit at one the wonders of the world, the Blue Lagoon. The mineral rich waters offer a unique and first-hand experience of Iceland's plentiful geothermal springs. The warm waters offer a perfect way to relax and reflect upon the natural beauty of this island and is a must see when traveling to Iceland. Note that after returning to Reykjavik from the Golden Circle, there will be a 30min break before heading to the Blue Lagoon.

On arrival at the Blue Lagoon your package includes entrance, Silica mud mask, use of a towel and your first drink.

The next day, for those on a 3 night, after check out from the hotel we transfer you back to the airport to catch your flight back to the UK. If you choose a 4 night stay the final day is at your leisure, use it to explore Reykjavik or why not book one of our other exciting day tours.

Prices are based on 2 sharing and are based on London departures but we can offer this tour from the regional airports that serve Iceland. We can also offer this deal staying in your hotel of choice and upgrade to a 4* or we can offer apartments if you prefer. Please enquire.
