Midnight Sun Spa Break Inc Blue Lagoon
A wonderful twist on our summer spa break, we bring you the Midnight Sun Spa Break. Our tour includes two wonderful spa experiences, the first is the stunning Blue Lagoon and we follow that with an evening trip in the setting sunlight to the Fontana Wellness Spa on the shores of Lake Kleifarvatn.
On arrival from the UK we transfer you to your hotel in Reykjavik. You’ll stay 4 nights at the 3* Hotel Cabin or similar and enjoy a local buffet breakfast each morning.
After breakfast you are free to take one of the hourly shuttles to the famous Blue Lagoon. The lagoon holds 6 million litres of geothermal seawater which is renewed every 40 hours and is rich in minerals, silica and algae. The water´s temperature is 37-39°C/98-102°F.
The deepest part of the lagoon is around 1,60m/5,2ft, but most areas are far more shallow. Please note that the lagoon floor, although smooth, is naturally uneven. The lagoon is designed for relaxed bathing. So, while you can swim gently around the lagoon, its warm, cloudy water is not suitable for vigorous exercise. Diving is not allowed anywhere.
The Blue Lagoon offers a wide selection of refreshments, from gourmet meals at the restaurant to ready-to-go bites at the café – there is something for everyone including a swim up bar so you can enjoy a drink or 2 whilst relaxing in the warm waters of the lagoon.
You are free to spend as long as you like at the Blue Lagoon, take in a treatment or two and coaches leave the Blue Lagoon at 11.15 until 2115 (not at 2015) for Reykjavik and the journey takes around 50 minutes.
We leave the busy city behind at 6pm and after a day of city life, nothing compares to revitalizing body and soul than by bathing in the geothermal baths at Laugarvatn Fontana on a beautiful summer evening. You also have the possibility to enter Gufan, a steam bath built over a natural hot spring where you can easily experience the boiling natural hot spring underneath. The more adventurous ones take a dip in the lake itself.
After you’ve relaxed in the pools and spa you’ll be treated to a traditional local buffet dinner and then en route back to Reykjavík we make a detour through the dusky southern countryside.
If you’re staying for 3 nights then you’ll bid a fond farewell as we transfer you back to the airport and your flight back to the UK.
For those on a 4 night package then the day is yours, spend it exploring Reykjavik or why not book one of the many tours we offer? The following day we’ll transfer you back to the airport for your flight back to the UK.
We can offer the tour with any of the other hotels we feature in our hotel section, just make a request for the hotel of your choice and we’ll get right back to you with a price.
Our prices are based on the cheapest departure date in any month and correct at time of publishing and subject to availability.
