Midnight Sun Adventure Including Transfers
Join us for an amazing experience as we witness the Midnight sun in Iceland and experience almost 24 hours of day light and see three of Iceland most popular trips in the evening sunshine. As the tours are all in the evenings it leaves the day free to taylor make your tour by adding additional trips or enjoying Reykjavik, maybe visiting the beach, the outdoor swimming pools, the zoo or parks and gardens.
On arrival from the UK we transfer you to your hotel in Reykjavik. You’ll stay 4 nights at the 3* Hotel Cabin or similar and enjoy a local buffet breakfast each morning.
We leave Reykjavik at 6pm for the Golden Circle evening tour which gives you the opportunity to experience Iceland’s most popular natural attractions in the summer evening light.
From Reykjavik, the tour takes you to Þingvellir National Park and UNESCO World Heritage Site, where the old Icelandic parliament Alþingi was established in the year 930 AD and many of Iceland's most important historic events took place.
Then, it’s over to the beautiful Gullfoss waterfall which will be spectacular under the golden rays of the setting sun. Gullfoss translates as ‘golden waterfall’ and is an impressive two-tiered waterfall which drops 32 meters into a narrow gorge.
From there the tour will travel to the geothermal area around Geysir and the incredible spouting Strokkur, echoing into the peaceful evening glow. Strokkur spouts water into the air, 30 meters high, every few minutes.
We start this evening at 8.30pm for a truly unique whale watching experience in the magical light of the midnight sun. The tour begins with a stop at our ticket office by the Ægisgarður pier in the Old Harbour in downtown Reykjavik. A guide will meet you in the Whale Watching Centre, which is facilitated on board an old fishing vessel permanently placed by the pier. Before or after the tour you can enjoy the onboard multimedia show that includes images, videos and facts about the whales and marine life.
The mystical midnight sun and the nature of the bay provide a unique wildlife experience.
With the added feature of a live troubadour performing in the vessels lounge, the Midnight Sun tour is ideal as a relaxing end of a busy day or as a beginning of a fun night in town. As our whales never fully sleep, we can expect to see minke whales, white beaked dolphins, harbour porpoises and humpback whales just as on the day tours. To make it even more memorable we often shut down the engines to enjoy the soothing sound of the water, the whales and the birds.
We leave the busy city behind at 6pm and after a day of city life, nothing compares to revitalizing body and soul than by bathing in the geothermal baths at Laugarvatn Fontana on a beautiful summer evening. You also have the possibility to enter Gufan, a steam bath built over a natural hot spring where you can easily experience the boiling natural hot spring underneath. The more adventurous ones take a dip in the lake itself. After you’ve relaxed in the pools and spa you’ll be treated to a traditional local buffet dinner and then en route back to Reykjavík we make a detour through the dusky southern countryside.
You bid a fond farewell as we transfer you back to the airport and your flight back to the UK.
We can offer the tour with any of the other hotels we feature in our hotel section, just make a request for the hotel of your choice and we’ll get right back to you with a price.
Our prices are based on the cheapest departure date in any month and correct at time of publishing and subject to availability.
