THE DEAL

If you’re a fan of the mythical “Game of Thrones” series and who isn’t? You’ll love this tour that traces the footsteps of your favourite characters through the mysterious landscapes of Iceland. Not only that but this package includes a fascinating look into the drinking culture and its history in Iceland plus you’ll join us on the hunt for the Northern Lights.

One arrival you’ll be transferred to your hotel in Reykjavik where you’ll enjoy 3 or 4 nights Bed & Breakfast. Depending on your arrival time you’ll be picked up at your hotel on either your 1st or 2nd night to join us on the hunt for the Northern Lights.

Located under the "Auroral Oval," Iceland is one of the best places on earth to experience the beautiful and mysterious northern lights. The Northern lights tour takes you out of Reykjavik city to the best places to see Northern lights swirling across the night sky in their fantastic shapes and colours.

The viewing conditions for Northern lights depend on many factors including geography, weather, the time of day and many more. Crisp cold evenings with skies clear enough to see stars is a good indicator for Auroral activity and if you don’t get to see the light then you can go again.

The following morning after breakfast we’ll take on the Game of Thrones tour which takes you to some of the filming locations in Iceland where you’ll get to experience Icelandic nature just like the cast members: take in the majestic, sweeping views, feel the spray of the dancing waterfalls, capture the panoramas in the distance, and experience the stillness and solitude.

Visit the stomping ground of the White Walkers and the trail of the Wildlings from North of the Wall at Þingvellir National Park and get to know the symbolic significance of the setting in context to the plot. Walk around the Settlement Era Viking Lodge in Þjórsárdalur valley where elaborate scenes were shot and one of the most hair raising massacres of the series took place.

The following day you’re free to enjoy Reykjavik and soak up the atmosphere of this fantastic city before we pick you up in the early evening for the Taste the Sage Brewery Tour.

Iceland's drinking culture and history with alcohol is interesting to say the least. From 1915 the nation was subject to complete alcohol prohibition that lasted almost a quarter of a century, when in 1935 wine and spirits were legalized.

Odd as it may seem, beer was not legalized until March 1989 and on the brewery tour of Ölgerðin brewery you will journey through history of brewing in Iceland, dive into the local drinking culture, taste beer and other beverages from Ölgerðin's main brewery, as well as a selection of ambitious beers from their award-winning craft brewery, Borg Brugghús.

At the end of your stay you’ll be transferred back to the hotel for your flight back to the UK.

This tour is available from London Heathrow, Gatwick, Luton, Stansted, Bristol, Birmingham, Manchester, Glasgow, Edinburgh & Belfast.

Prices are based on the cheapest departure in that given month from the cheapest airport. Please note this package is available to people aged 20 years and over.

Please note Northern Lights Tours operate from 1st September to 15th April. If you choose dates outside this period the Northern Lights Tour will be replaced by our Reykjavik City Tour.
